When I decided to take a step back from posting on Instagram, it did cross my mind whether or not I'd be invited to do any more clothing collabs. As someone who isn't much of a shopper, but gets majority of her new clothing from brand kindness, I did fear a bit that if I wanted something new, I'd have to save up money to buy it. First world problems, I know... But alas, Foxblood had reached out to me and asked if I would be willing to recieve PR from them and all my fears were subdued.

I have recieved PR from Foxblood one other time in the past, consisting of bell bottoms, a lace top, and a hat that when I'm not sporting my fro, I do still rock to this day. So with a bit of familiarity around the brand, I was excited to see what I'd be able to get my hands on this time.

I recieved (photos in order and courtesy of Foxblood Clothing):

My Review of Foxblood Clothing

Overall I am happy with everything I have recieved with minor nit-picky things that only someone as particular as I am would point out.

Fit and Quality Check

Morticia Maxi Dress

Starting off with the Morticia Maxi, let me just say it exceeded my expectations.

The idea of the dress is to be similar of that of Morticia-- the iconic floor length, figure hugging shape and boy, does this dress deliver.

I ordered a large knowing I could very well be an extra large because of my hips and I'm glad I did. Not that it would have been too big, but because I went with my smaller size, I was really able to utilize the stretchy fabric and the way the dress was stitched to emphasize my curves. I think had I ordered up, the dress still would have looked nice, but not nearly as waist snatching as you want a dress like that to be.

The other great thing about this dress is that I am 5'10 and the dress comes all the way down to the floor!

If you're a tall girl, you know how rare it is to find an affordable dress that is supposed to be floor length, but actually hits more like ankle length.

If you're on the shorter side, I can see this being a deterrent, but honestly, I'm not here for the short girls today when I'm writing this. We actually tall girls (not to be confused with average height girls who clothes seem to be made for) have a dress properly suited for us and I'm so happy! The arms are even long enough to use the thumb hole feature that I absolutely adore.

Overall, this piece was my favorite to recieve!

The Lovers Handbag

Next up would be the Lovers Handbag...

Now I got this, and please don't be mad, but I got this with the idea that I'd take the art off of it and customize it.

The art is cute, high quality, and if I were a white girl, I'd probably love to rock it, but on principle, as a black woman, I just refuse to wear white women on my body. It feels so... weird to me and so I'll get into why I picked the bag in the first place if not for the beautiful artwork that just isn't for me.

I love the shape.

The shape sold me.

It is a lovely circle shape with a red interior and reminded me of a vintage bag.

The zipper itself does get a little stuck, but it's so minor and something you can easily overlook for such a cute piece that I'm not really docking any mental points off for it.

After I fully customize the bag to my liking, I'm sure it'll become a statement piece in my wardrobe, so be on the lookout for that!

The Bathory Robe

And the final thing I received was the Bathory Robe and listen, I was so excited for this piece. It kinda gave gothic Hugh Hefner and I would love to be the unproblematic, black, pussy connoisseur like himself which originally attracted me to the piece.

It's beautiful, but... I should have taken more care to see that it's a crush velvet as opposed to a regular velvet material which made it a little less in my book.

I love a plush, soft velvet expierence and I was excited to do makeup in this while feeling like a vixen and I definitely still will use it as such, but it's just not as soft as I would have liked it to be if it was made from a velvet material instead of that crush kind. It's more textured and rugged than a typical velvet would be.

Conclusion

Like I said earlier though, overall, I am happy with everything I received with minor caveats.

The quality is great for an affordable alternative fashion brand. I imagine that when things do start to wear, as all things do, I will reach for the machine and mend it, rather than it being too flimsy for me to consider that which can be the case for items from fast fashion brands.

Have you ordered anything from Foxblood before? What do you think of the brand?
